Simultaneous interpretation equipment

The following technical equipment (including support by qualified technicians) is required for simultaneous interpretation: soundproofed interpretation booth(s), interpreters' consoles, microphones, transmitters, receivers, headsets, cabling, etc.

Many venues have built-in interpretation booths.

Mobile interpretation booths and appropriate technical equipment can be rented from special conference equipment providers. Qualified providers can be found on the Internet (search terms, e.g.: "conference equipment", "simultaneous interpretation equipment", "SI equipment"), via venues, or the contracted sound equipment provider.

Your consultant interpreter will be happy to recommend qualified SI equipment providers close to the venue of your conference or event.

Booths must be located at the back and/or sides of the hall to ensure good visual contact between all booths and a clear view of all proceedings in the hall, i.e. all participants, lecturers, the chairperson, etc., as well as all visual aids (projection screen, etc.).

For more details, please refer to the internationally accepted standards for SI equipment: ISO 2603/1998 (on built-in booths) and ISO 4043/1995 (on mobile booths).
