Terms of use for the VKD database

By accessing the VKD online member database, the user enters into a contract that is subject to the following terms:

  • The VKD online member database is compiled by the Verband der Konferenzdolmetscher (VKD) im BDÜ e.V. on the basis of its current directory of members.
  • With the help of the online member database, the user can find qualified VKD conference interpreters for an interpreting assignment using language, qualification and postcode as search criteria. The data in the database, which includes interpreters’ addresses, telephone numbers and other information approved for publication, may only be used for this purpose.
  • The data may only be used or processed for other purposes in accordance with the strict requirements of German data protection legislation, particularly Germany’s Federal Data Protection Act (“Bundesdatenschutzgesetz”).
  • Use of the data contained in the database other than for the intended purpose described above is not permitted. In particular, the following are not permitted and will lead to legal action being taken by the VKD in accordance with current law:
    • commercial use of any of the addresses in the VKD online member database;
    • use of the entire database or parts thereof as an aid in the compilation or expansion of lists of participants, addresses or other lists;
    • reading out of the VDK online member database for the aforementioned purposes or other commercial purposes.
  • No guarantee is given as to the availability of the database or the accuracy or completeness of the entries therein.

Use of the database for the permitted purpose as described above is free of charge.
